Girl Poet

A girl might be better than a poem
Even more beautiful than all flowers
But a girl who is a poet
Might even be more gorgeous than
All of those other things.
A girl poet sees the sun
Not just as a light for the world
But the bringer of life itself
She sees the sun as a sister
From whose belly bursts forth a garden
Of life.
